As with the Pharisees and Jews in Jesus’ time, many people today seem to be waiting for the Kingdom of God to be established in a physical temple in Jerusalem. People who believe this are not paying attention to what Jesus clearly told us; or this truth has just not yet been revealed to them because they are looking outside instead of within.
In Matthew 16:16-17 when Peter said: “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God”, Jesus answered him: “Blessed art thou Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood did not revealed it unto you, but my Father which is in heaven.” Jesus spoke in parables of the kingdom of God and the kingdom of heaven because the understanding of it must be spiritually discerned – it must be revealed and does not come through flesh and blood, or human head knowledge and comprehension. If we are true believers, if we are true children of God, if the Spirit of God (His Presence) and of Christ dwells in us, the kingdom of God is already here, and it is within us.
If that has not yet become a reality to you, a certain assurance and revelation from God the Father, pray that He give you wisdom, knowledge and understanding that He might open these scriptures to you, that you might go forward in the power of the knowledge of the mysteries of His kingdom in you. This does not come through a cursory reading of scripture, but only through prayer, study, diligent seeking, and the revelation of God’s Spirit. This is not an exhaustive list of scriptures on the subject, so do your own research, and study and pray.
Matthew 13:9-11 “He who has ears, let him hear.” Then the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Why do You speak to the people in parables?” He replied, “The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.”
Luke 17:20-21 “And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.

Romans 8:9-11 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Romans 14:17 “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?
2 Corinthians 6:16 Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.
Galatians 4:6 “And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.”
Ephesians 2:19-22 “Therefore you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens of the saints and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone. In Him the whole building is fitted together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you too are being built together into a dwelling place for God in His Spirit.”
