The Gospel According to Matthew

The Gospel of Matthew is wonderful to read, as it brings us into a close personal knowledge of Jesus, his teachings and how He lived, through Matthew’s firsthand account experience of walking with Him. This is a Youtube video of the movie The Book of Matthew, starring Bruce Marchiano as Jesus. The movie is four hours long, so you need a free evening or afternoon to watch it, or split it up over a couple of days, but it is so well worth watching. I have seen it many times, and just as when you read the Bible, you see something new each time you watch it. Bruce Marchiano, a Christian himself, has played Jesus in this movie and The Encounter (a low budget but also wonderful movie), and portrays Him in a way that is so precious and real, you can’t help but come away from it knowing Him better. The movie is the complete Book of Matthew, verbatim and acted with excellence. It will take you to a new level of intimacy with our Lord, and bring the scriptures to life. It is not the highest quality Youtube video, but it is still great.

The unique thing about Matthew is his intense focus on Jesus’ fulfillment of Old Testament prophesies concerning the Messiah. The movie starts with the genealogy of Jesus, which was of extreme importance to all Jews, but particularly important to Matthew in its evidence of Jesus as the awaited Messiah. It goes on a little long at first, but is actually much more interesting to hear His genealogy read to us than reading it ourselves.

To learn more about Bruce Marchiano and how God is using him to reach so many, visit I am really looking forward to seeing his upcoming movie project, portraying Jesus in the Book of John. Those of you who tithe (which we all should be doing, as God directed us, for our sakes, not His), this could be a ministry God calls you to help support. If you are blessed by the youtube version of the Book of Matthew, you might want to consider ordering the DVD.
