Think of Him First and be More Than Conquerors

Foggy Smiths CoveAs your mind begins to rise out of the fog of sleep, before you open your eyes, think first of Him. Your first thought must be of praise and exalting Him, thank him for your sound, restful sleep, and the day ahead that He will bless you throughout. Ask him to fill you to overflowing with His Spirit to pour out to everyone you encounter in your day, to order all your steps according to His will and to guide you into becoming that son or daughter in whom He can be well pleased, in Christ Jesus.

No matter what our job is, or what challenges we might be facing in life, if we begin each day thus, we are more than conquerors. The more we praise and exalt Him–My God How Great Thou Art!–the more His Spirit swells within us, until we cannot contain it, and it pours forth from us into the world, and nothing can stand against it. “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” Psalm 18:2

Romans 8:31-38 “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: ‘For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Fill yourself up to overflowing with Him first thing in the morning, and you will be more than a conqueror all day long.
