Jesus told us in Matthew 7:13-14: “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it, But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it.…”
Ephesians 1:4-5 “For he chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His presence, in Love. He predestined us for adoption as His sons (and daughters) through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will,…”
We are so incredibly blessed to have been chosen by God Almighty from before the foundation of the world (just think on that a minute, and let the enormity of it settle into your being), so when He called us, we knew his voice, as the sheep know their shepherd’s voice, and we followed Him. We have no choice but to be awed and humbled by the realization that through the incomprehensible Love of God, we were chosen to become holy and blameless in His presence, through the sacrifice of our Lord, Jesus Christ. We sinful little creatures didn’t choose Him–He chose us!
Now we travel on the lovely, peaceful narrow way with Him. How blessed we are not to be traveling on that crowded, road rage-filled super highway, with blaring horns, poisonous exhaust fumes and billboards constantly assaulting the senses–the broad way that leads its travelers on a one-way trip to Hell. Even if we find ourselves in the course of life having to travel the world’s highways, if we keep ourselves centered in Him and on the narrow path, we will be raised above all the chaos–it cannot touch us.
“If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31.
